Week 1: Crest findings

Image one:

"To your health" - a toast in Latin to seem prestigious! And the just like the UK coat of arms - the use of the Unicorn and the Lion, the use of the crown...and the Tudor rose - all these symbols make the coat of arms for "English Ale" seem like the "real deal" if you will! All these images appeal to the history of the company and what the company stands for - in touch with the roots of the settlement and building of a nation - just makes the company stand out because it has a basis and background that it wants to uphold!

Image two:

"Stuttgart" - A German industrial city in which Porsche vehicles are manufactured. The horse power of the car symbolised by the rearing/bucking and sculpted beast of an animal silhouetted against a golden hue! The horse is the image used for porsche, which to me really has becme such a recognisable symbol.

And the use of colour is very interesting...the crimson, ebony and gold now make me think of the German flag! And presented in a crest/shield type format really establishes the history of the company...connecting the horse to a family name and their basis in German history!

Image three:

"Couture" - meaning "the design and manufacture of fashinable clothes to a client's specific requirements and measurements"

Although not quite a crest or shield there is some relation through the use of the crown and its placement in the centre of image, the use of the floral inspired designs that is symmetrical and seem to grow from the crown and grow up and around the title, the font of the title/company name uses an old english type script! All of which combined make the logo seem more upper-class and prestigious and even fashionable.
