As you may be able to notice the scythe is a very important image in my family.
The scythe was possible used as a symbol for our family as we may have come from an agricultural background and who ever was granted arms had land and must have been a soldier - in order to have been granted a coat of arms
To me this symbol represents strength and precision. I feel very honoured to be associated with this image - maybe it isn't the most AMAZING symbol - like a lion for example, but to me it is fascinating that my family names goes so far back in history that our name is mentioned in the dooms day book.
I must say that i have no idea really why it might be so appealing despite being connected to my heritage... but i remember when I first realised it was apart of my family feeling originally disappointed and then later thinking "actually that is a great symbol" - possibly because I am interested in mythology and to me it reminds me of that for certain reasons i can not seem to pinpoint at the moment... or maybe because in my childhood I've always used it in my concept designs for characters...
i just feel connected to it in some way - and maybe its been planted into my brain because my dad has studied genealogy for many, many years and his interest has spiked my own...
the mystery goes on, i dare say!??!?
